In continuation of the launch of our unique RT1 Smart Rooftop Monitoring System at Intersolar Europe in Munich early 2017, we took the opportunity to exhibit and promote it at Intersolar India in December 2017.
National Solar Mission IndiaThe main objective of the Jawaharlal Nehru Solar mission of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is to reach 100 GW of solar energy by the year 2022. Progress across India is actively driven by Central and State Government thrusts on the implementation of large solar power plants. There has been a visible surge in generation across the key Indian states, initiated some time back and through ongoing large investments from financial institutions and private players. This has driven the demand for power equipment, accessories, and supplies of related products for the industry; including measurement devices. We are proud to be part of the renewable energy initiatives and contribute by technically communicating with the industry and providing advanced instruments for the key area of solar radiation measurement.
Intersolar IndiaIntersolar India is the largest exhibition and conference for the solar power industry in India and visited by the majority of stakeholders in the Jawaharlal Nehru Solar Mission. The start was disrupted due to a cyclone hitting Mumbai and creating disruptions in transport such that some key speakers couldn’t make it for their presentations on the first day. However, it picked up with good vigour on the following days and industry leaders presented advancements in technology, new products and projects .
RT1 a great match for the growing rooftop projects in India
The positive response and feedback from rooftop customers about RT1 and the interest levels for the product speak about the demand for such an optimised product for the rooftop PV segment of the growing Indian solar power market. MNRE has sanctioned $ 750 million of funding for a 30% capital subsidy towards rooftop solar installations for residential and institutional consumer projects. In addition, up to 30% subsidy is also available for governmental projects.
Moreover, the government has also recommended mandatory rooftop solar installations for buildings exceeding specified size and/or power consumption thresholds under the Building Bye Laws. Four states and union territories have adopted these regulations so far. This encouraging trend has translated into a huge opportunity for medium and small companies to shift focus to the rooftop solar business; opening up opportunities for suppliers of power-related equipment, such as our solutions for solar radiation monitoring.
The winner of the RT1 Indian giveaway campaign
At Intersolsar all visitors had a chance to win a free RT1 by simply leaving their details at the booths of our exhibiting partners. We are delighted to announce that this was won by Amplus Solar Energy, which is a leading player in the industry and specialised in the rooftop segment.
